The Question, my friends, is: “What if?”

Luke 1v37:  For with God, nothing shall be impossible

On this past Monday, 25th February 2013 I came across news that filled my heart with sick fear.  One of my friends had disappeared, he had already been missing for a week.  Just a day later, on the 26th came the further news that everyone had been dreading. Yes, his body had been found, but his life had been taken from us, cruelly snatched away by evil hands, a loving husband from his wife, a tender father from his child, a dutiful son from his relatives, a servant of the Most High God.

The purpose of this post is to ask, dear friends: What if?
What if the God of the Bible is truly as big as He claims, bigger than life, bigger also than death?
What if His power could still work through our pain and grief to restore our friend to us, to his wife and family, alive as before?
What if we joined faith, yours to mine, and mine to yours, to call on our God to act in His power?

What if every Christian who read this were to give up 30 minutes every day for a week, from today Friday 1st March 2013 to Thursday 7th March 2013 to remind our Almighty Father of what is written in His own Word, that “With God nothing shall be impossible”? (Luke 1v37).
If you can spare an additional 30 minutes per day, then perhaps you could use that extra time to also praise God for His awesome majesty.
If you can skip a meal or two per day, then that would also be useful.  If you can do more than all this then please do so, please do as much as you can.  If you cannot do as much as any of this, then please do what you can.

Yes, I know that Christians depart from this world all the time, often in circumstances which are equally tragic.  Perhaps it is time for those of us who are left to draw a line in the sand, to take a stand, to call on God to be God.

If we try then at least we will be able to say that we tried.  However if we don’t try then we will never know what mindblowing and incredible things might be waiting patiently for us behind these “What if?”s.

So then, my friends, let us dare to try. Let us look one another in the face, let us ask one another, let us force our mouths to frame the words: “What if?”
Let us give this a week from 1st-7th March 2013, then we can leave the matter in the hands of our God.
