Resurrection Week (the week immediately following Easter Sunday,) should be a time of joy and happiness, but for many people I know this particular one has instead been a time of profound sadness and heartbreak.
I have tried to reflect that in the choice of Sunday note for today, however, I know that the Psalm I have chosen is not exactly appropriate. I am at present not able to think of/remember any other Bible passage that would be more fitting.
I hope and pray that God would comfort everyone who is heartbroken or grieving at this time.
Please also note that this is taken from the NIV (New International Version) version of the Bible, rather than the NKJV (New King James Version) version I usually quote from.
Psalm 22 verses 1 – 5
1) My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?
2)O my God, I cry out by day, but You do not answer,
by night, and am not silent.
3)Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the praise of Israel.
4)In you our fathers put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.
5)They cried to you and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not disappointed.
